Firefox upgraded to the latest version. My organization uses cloud based applications that require the ESR. I downloaded and installed the new ESR, refreshed firefox and created a new profile and the ESR extension is still not working.

The conclusion is that your applications require the previous ESR (52), not the new one. Ask your IT department.
