The Quick Link on the Firefox home page today says "Should the government be able to get into encrypted devices for surveillance? Help us get this question added to the next presidential debate."
Of course I'm in favor of US citizens getting involved in US government decisions, but...

That's not the US. That's Italy. What's going on?

There's no 'rule' that says the .it domain has to be used for websites based in Italy. In fact .com domain names are thought to be for US based websites or companies, but in the early days of the internet many of the current country based domains didn't exist and were added piecemeal.
