Various websites will not load in Firefox (just for example http://www.artfire.com ), they start to load a white page, but it never finishes and gives no error message, just loads forever. The only thing I can find in common with the sites that won't load is that it says "Connected to fonts.googleapis.com ..." and that's where it stops. The problem started a couple of days ago, seemingly randomly as I hadn't made any changes to my computer beforehand like updates, installs, etc. just visiting the same ~10 pages I always visit and some won't work anymore.

The problem is only happening on Firefox, but it is happening on all 3 computers in my house, and each computer is running a different version of Firefox on a different operating system. We all share the same WiFi but are not connected on a shared network. This computer has the most recent version of Firefox (43.0.4) and runs Windows 7. I've tried restarting the computer and Firefox, cleared the cookies and cache, and the problem happens in Firefox Safe Mode.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Sounds that something else is wrong if it happens on all computers.

Does it work here?

Did you try to reset (power off/on) the router?

https://www.google.com/webfonts and the other site will not load at all, just a white screen, and I've now tried resetting my router, but I'm still having the same issue. It seems like it's more than a font issue, sometimes pages that won't load don't show the "Connected to fonts.googleapis.com ..." there's just no information at all.

To get around this, I would love to just use Chrome for those pages in the meantime, but I didn't previously have Chrome on this computer, and the website to download Chrome is one of the pages that won't load, so I'm in a tough spot even just working around the problem.

I really appreciate you all trying to help, if there's anything else you think I can do, please let me know. Sorry I can't be of more help identifying the problem since I'm not very computer savvy to begin with. I've just never had such a weird issue like this.

If you can't inspect the certificate via "I Understand the Risks" then try this:

Open the "Add Security Exception" window by pasting this chrome URL in the Firefox location/address bar and check the certificate:

  • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul

In the location field of this window type or paste the URL of the website.

  • retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
  • click the "View..." button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Viewer

You can inspect details like the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the Certificate Viewer. Check who is the issuer of the certificate. If necessary then please attach a screenshot that shows the Certificate Viewer.

I put in the URL you gave me and clicked on "Get Certificate" but the Certificate Status is stuck saying: "Attempting to identify this site..." and the "View" button is grey. Thanks again for trying to help, if you think I may have followed your instructions wrong or if there is anything else I can do to help, please let me know.
