how can I turn off the ads effecting my browsers - started with TB
ever I installed Thunderbird I now have numerous 'pop up' ads on my browsers. When I attempt to enter info in browser fields another browser window starts to load. This is negatively effecting my online shopping. Help me turn these off, please

Sounds like malware. Can you check your history on where you downloaded Thunderbird from? It's possible that it was an unofficial package where Thunderbird was bundled with unwanted extras.
For Firefox on Mac, I suggest starting with your Add-ons page. Either:
- Cmd+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions. All extensions are optional; none come with Firefox.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any improvement?
