Hi.

Not sure if any of you are aware of this, but I couldn't find anything on this support site, so eh, here I go.

Here's the situation: the LastPass app for Android has a Fill Helper setting, where it detects username and password fields on sites and pops up a helper popup that you can tap to copy your username or password to the clipboard. But the problem is that it's not compatible with Firefox for Android because Firefox doesn't allow it to read URLs.

Attached is a screenshot from a conversation I had with a help rep on the LastPass support site. Hopefully, it'd give a bit more info.

I really hope this can be fixed soon. I don't wanna switch to another browser, but I have an older phone and don't have a lot of space, so if I don't have to, I'd *really* like to not have to install the LP plugin...

Also, does anyone know *why* this is the case with Firefox for Android and not for other browsers, like Chrome?

Thanks.

Android has a model where each app is in a tightly protected space. If Firefox were to expose the current open URLs any app on your phone would have access to the data.

Chrome and the stock Android browser are protected as any app that wants to read the bookmarks and history must request the 'device & app history' install time permission.

The Lastpass extension is the way forward.

Why exactly can't Firefox do this?

Also, why does Mozilla Support support &ltblockquote&gt and other tags but not anchor tags? –_–
