Firefox 37.0.2 does not memorize my option to always open PDF with Adobe Reader, keep asking everytime.

Another question, is that possible to download and open PDFs files, instead os only opening?

Open and save is only possible as a two step process. You either open the PDF file in an external viewer and save the file in that application via "File > Save As" or similar or you save the file via Firefox and in the Downloads Manager use "Open Containing Folder" to open the file in Finder or double-click the file to open in the default application.
