Thunderbird assigns incorrect "from" field contents to my incoming messages.

When I receive emails I use filters to assign them to various folders.

I notice that I now get most of my emails going to the correct folders BUT the "from" field has incorrect details of the sender they came from!!!

Back up your profile. Put the backup somewhere safe in case of accidents.

Then go to one of the affected folders, right-click, Properties and Repair Folder.
