Only when using Firefox NTTimes.com will show the main page but when I click on a headline to view an article I am directed to sign in again and then I get the following message:

"The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies"

I went to tools>options>privacy and it is set to "Use custom settings for history" and "Accept third party cookies - always" and I specifically allowed cookies from NTTimes.com to no avail.

This site works properly with Chrome and IE.

What cookie settings do you use?

In case you use the "ask me" setting then try to allow cookies generally (e.g. until I close Firefox).

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
