I currently have FF version 7.0.1 & I need to upgrade. I want to make a completely fresh start; as if it had never been on my computer. (I know all of the things I will be losing: profile info, preferences, bookmarks, extensions, etc. That's what i want.) How do I upgrade and get the default settings/preferences, as I know just deleting the old FF and installing the new one won't do it. Your help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Laurie

You can select to remove all personal data when uninstalling Firefox.
Note that his will remove all Firefox profiles if you have more than one profile and not just the current default profile.
You can also remove all the folders manually, program folder in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\, profile folder in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\ and cache folder in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\).
