Firefox 4 slow loading Cityville in Facebook - how to speed up?
Running Windows 7 and Avast Free V6. With Firefox 3, my wife was able to load up the Cityville game in Facebook very quickly. When we upgraded to Firefox 4 it takes ages to load the game. I have reverted to Firefox 3 until we can resolve the problem.
There are lots of mentions of being able to customise the security settings for web sites but I can not see anything that would see to help in this situation.

Please perform the standard diagnostic in the first instance. See: Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems
Also, outdated plugins can contribute to this kind of problem. A visit to the Plugins Check page is well worthwhile, particularly since old plugins can expose your system to attacks. For example, see these advisories which relate to Adobe apps.

Similarly, you may have extensions installed which cause slowdowns. See https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/performance/
Then there are the junk apps that come bundled with 'free' software. Take a look at this article if you have a chat client called Digsby installed then it's using your system resources for its own purposes: Digsby Uses Your PC to Make Money
Here's a list of junk software which gets installed if you don't opt out before clicking "Next" to run the installation: Junk software
Do you have the Ask Toolbar installed? Check in Add-ons | Extensions. How did you get that you ask? It's easy, you were too intent on clicking "Next" and didn't notice the opt out provision. See screenshot.
All this junk slows Firefox down, but because it's open source and accepts so many extensions, it's vulnerable to this kind kind of exploitation.
it just gets worse i downloaded firefox 4 5 and 6 and they still do the same i checked and noticed that new versions of firefox do not support most addons and plug ins which run most of these pages including java im still looking for ways to fix these problem and havent found anything yet if you have better luck please post thanks and good luck
