Synching with Google Calendar

Thunderbird calendar works fine and immediately post new entries on google calendar, however if I enter it on google, it will not show in Thunderbird.

The default synchronization period is 30 minutes. Still sure it does not work?

I didn't know about the 30 minute period, but it's way beyond that point. I posted it this morning and still nothing shows on thunderbird. It's been like that for a very long time.
