https://www.powerball com comes up as BLOCKED
About 90% of the time, when I try to go to powerball.com on my android (12), it displays a message that "The request is blocked".
I don't know what the issue is but it's incredibly frustrating when I'm trying to check my numbers and I can't access this site.
What can I do to fix this?
Chosen solution
I appreciate the suggestion and efforts to figure this out, but don't have the time or patience to work on this when I can get to the website by using a private tab.

Hi Darren
This does not look like an issue with Firefox for Android. Does your internet service provider have any parental controls in place? Guessing this is to do with a lottery, they may block it as gambling.
There are no parental controls set up as there are no kids in the household and this happens no matter what wifi I'm connected to so it's not my isp. It doesn't happen every time, so it does occasionally connect. Powerball is one of the biggest lotteries across the US - 45 states participate so it's an incredibly popular lottery. You can't play it online - you have to go to a store to buy a ticket so it's not online gambling either. I can access it on my PC at home without any issues, it's just on my phone that causes problems.

Any difference if you search powerball and then click the link to the site on the search engine results page?
This sounds similar to the "Access Denied" problem, which is a message from a security system sites use to fend off automated connections, bots, and attacks.
In that case, indirect connections (VPN, proxy server) and modified headers (cookie block, user agent change) can be a factor.
If you are reaching the site directly (i.e., you've passed the initial protection), then cached files and previously set cookies could be a factor, as well as add-ons that block critical site scripts.
Searching then clicking on results still shows blocked. Your mention of cookies made me think and try private browsing. It works in private browsing!! This leads me to think it's a cookie issue. I don't use any add-ons/extensions/VPN/proxies.
The only place I can find to clear cookies is clicking on the lock icon next to the address while at the website/blocked notice. But clearing cookies doesn't resolve the issue.
You are definitely on to something here but I'm not sure what else I can do/clear/change to make it work... Other than just using private tab to access it.
Thanks much!! You made me think and try private tab which gets me what I need. Now it's just a matter of curiosity as to why it's not working in regular browsing.
Do you have any add-ons installed in Firefox for Android?
What level of enhanced tracking protection do you have set?
No add-ons, "Standard" level enhanced tracking protection.
Modified
Can you try installing the Beta version of Firefox for Android from the Google Play store and try the site in that without using Private Browsing mode. This will isolate the problem from your existing Firefox installation.
