Thunderbird shows the wrong sender in pop-up notifications

From one specific account of mine, the pop-up notifications of new mail show the wrong sender (it's a sender from the previous day that is incorrectly shown). This sender is shown no matter who emails. I have had the problem for at least a year.

Running Mac OS 10.10.5, but have had the problem with 10.9 as well.
