why won't emails stay in my inbox?

I see the emails come in - DON"T MOVE THEM and they simply disappear from the inbox and can not be located on the desktop version of Thunderbird. I often have to use another device to forward the email back into the inbox a second time. Yep the email is still in the IN box on other devices. It is only on Thunderbird that they disappear. Rebooting doesn't help. I'm ready to find another email program - this is unacceptable.

How do you have the account setup on all your devices? POP or IMAP or a mixture of the two?

Imap on all devices

Does it work, the second time, after you have forwarded them to yourself?

Are you sure Thunderbird isn't set to show only unread emails? Or maybe only show messages with attachments?

It would seem that they are not being moved or deleted since they can still be found via other devices. This suggests to me they are being hidden.
