Hi, the title kinda describes my issue right here, and it just started to happen (didn't have this issue yesterday). Basically, when I have my music running in the background and I receive a message in Web WhatsApp, the music gets muted for like 2 seconds.

So you might think that it's something related to Web WhatsApp? No. I tried opening a YouTube video only to see the exact same result: the background "noise" gets muted and whatever sound is coming from the tab gets played instead.

I do not want this to happen at all, it's extremely annoying to put it into mild words. I've looked at the options to see if one could disable this "feature" but I couldn't find anything related to it at all.

Searching this board which might describe my issue was nowhere to be found, so I guess it's pretty new.

Hope something can be done to this because things like this would just make me switch to another browser, which I'd prefer not to do...

What is that background music being played by, Flash from an online website?

If so, is Flash up to date? Just a WAG - wild assed guess ... Flash Player 20.0.0.306 is the most recent version. An earlier version was when a "tab mute" feature was added to Flash and was causing issues for some users. The .306 was supposed to have fixed that problem.

Maybe that "tab mute" is kicking in for the 2 seconds?

Just updated my flash to .306 and the issue is solved now. The fact that flash would cause this flew right past my mind since it didn't update or do anything in the past few days, and my mozilla just got updated to 44.0.2 so I might've thought the issue would be there, clearly not.

Thanks!
