Outgoing emails lose their text content
For some time now when I 'send' an email it will 'lose' the content so recipients get the email delivered to their computer, but it's just 'blank'.
I do usually get an 'error' message asking if I want to send the email 'without' the content (a daft option when you think about it!), and if I click on OK to send maybe half the time the message will go still containing the text and half will be blank on receipt.
If I click on 'No,' and then 'Send' again, sometimes it will go satisfactorily, and sometimes blank. It's a real puzzle and extremely annoying, as you can imagine. So I am having to 'check' each email sent to make sure that it went ok.
Any suggestions welcomed please? Many thanks, Richard (I am using XP on an older Dell Dimension 9150 - but no problem with Thunderbird for years now)

Do you have an anti-virus product which is scanning your outgoing emails before they get sent? If yes, then try this...access the anti-virus product and switch off the scanning of outgoing mail option.
Hi, I have done as suggested, and turned 'off' the outgoing mail checking. Looks a very likely candidate!
Will let you know how it goes, Richard
re: sadly!, the darn problem continues! What I get each time is this 'There was a problem including the file file:///C:/DOCUME~1/DIANAW~1/LOCALS~1/Temp/nsemail.html in the message. Would you like to continue sending the message without this file?' Yes No As mentioned sometimes just re-sending works, and sometimes the message content is 'lost' when it gets to the recipient.
Do you use AVAST anti-virus ?
settings > general > exclusions
You need to add that file to the list of exclusions:
C:/DOCUME~1/DIANAW~1/LOCALS~1/Temp/nsemail.html
Tried the suggested action, but afraid that the problem persists. Entered the file to be 'excluded' twice to make sure iI had not made any mistakes,. but when testing it was as unreliable as ever!. Sometimes it will 'go', but then half the time I find that the 'text' has been 'lost'. However, sometimes I just try again and again to just get passed the "There was a problem - - ' message as above.
Getting to the point of having to consider giving up on Thunderbird as it's taking so much effort to send emails reliably.
Any more suggestions gratefully received!, Richard
re :nsemail.html Windows Temp files should get auto deleted after use, but just in case that particular temp file is still causing an issue, please delete it.
Hi yet again!. You must be getting tired of this problem by now! Hate to say it, but limited knowledge of Computers means I have to ask how I go about deleting a Temp File as suggested in your email?
Really do appreciate all the time you are spending on this,
Regards, Richard
It will be here: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temp
click on Start and select 'Run'
'Run' should also be located in Start > Programs > Accessories > Run type: %temp% click on OK
A search will look for Temp folder.
