Macbook - Cannot restore bookmarks, "JSON file exceeds the maximum number of characters"
FFox version 34.0.5 Mac OS X 10.8
I did an Adobe Flash update which required a close of my Firefox browser. When I opened Firefox following the install, I had no bookmarks. When I attempted to restore via a backed-up JSON file (1 month old) an error was returned stating that Firefox was 'unable to process the backup file.'
I used http://jsonformatter.curiousconcept.com/ to check out the file and it says that 'the JSON data exceeds the maximum amount of characters'. I would have hoped that if I was at a point of maximum characters it would have pointed this out to me when I did the backup, but no warning was given and now I'm out 10 years of links.
PLEASE HELP!!!! Is there anything that I can do to increase the number of characters that Firefox will accept from a JSON file?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I can add to this by stating that I have a lesser list of bookmarks in Chrome that I tried to import via bookmarks/import from another browser, and it says the import is successful yet nothing shows up in bookmarks. This Firefox install looks useless, but unfortunately I have tried reinstalling Firefox 2x already with no success.
What is the file size of the JSON file?
Did you check the file to make sure that it is a valid JSON file?
You can open the file in the Scratchpad (Tools > Web Developer). Click the "Pretty Print" button to format the file
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
