I have lost the link to my Thunderbird profile. How do I re-create the link?

I was having problems with Firefox locking up. Yesterday I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. I did nothing to my Thunderbird installation. Today when I start Thunderbird it has apparently lost my profile and treats me as a new user needing to create an email account. I can see in File Explorer that my profile is still there. How do I relink my profile to Thunderbird?

I'd use Thunderbird's profile manager to select the preferred profile.

…or else, I'd edit the profiles.ini file to re-establish the preferred profile as the default.


Do make sure you know for sure which profile is for Firefox and which is for Thunderbird.
