Audio out-of-sync in Vimeo Flash player in Firefox

I sometimes get reports that videos in Vimeo's Flash player play slightly out of sync in Firefox, but not in other browsers (even with the same version of Flash installed). I've contacted Adobe about this issue as well, but wanted to check if there were any known interactions between Firefox / Adobe Flash that could cause out-of-sync video?

You can advice them to check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:

  • disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
  • disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
