Hi all,

I have tried on K9, and Thunderbird Mobile.

On my tablet, with K9 mail, I exported my fully working accounts, and imported to my phone. All worked, except one account, where it only has an outbox. No inbox, no sent folder, nothing.

I then Installed Thunderbird mobile, and used the QR code link in the desktop app, to sync to it. Same issue. All other accounts work fine, but not that one account. Only an outbox.

I've logged into the web version of that account, and no restrictions are on folders. And it's only on my phone. On tablet it's fine.

I can't even choose folders in settings, for sent, etc, as there are none to choose.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Have you checked the folders are correctly mapped under settings > account > folders?

Have you tried adding the account by entering your email address and credentials instead of using the QR code. Might be worth trying and seeing if the issue reproduces.

What versions of the mobile app are you using and who is your email provider? Is the account presenting the issue connecting via Imap or Pop3?

Thank you for your response Platform34.

Under settings > account > folders there are definitely a list of options (choose sent folder, drafts folder, etc). However, each of the options has nothing to choose. There are no folders available in the drop down menus.

I originally added the account from scratch, without an export / import, or a QR code. That had the same issue, so I then tried the import and QR options later. It's the same issue on all 3 methods. But, ONLY for this email account.

The email provider is Zoho.

I am on the very latest build from the FDriod Store (currently Version 13)

Also worth noting, the other email accounts I have, are all from the same provider. Zoho. This is the only one doing this.

I have logged into the webmail for zoho, and can find no folders unticked for syncing etc. They are fine, as I say, on the same software, on my tablet, but on the phone, it's this one account that only has an outbox.

Totally stumped

Thanks for the information.

Could you have a look at your account settings on Zoho's web portal. Settings > mail accounts > folder settings (beneath imap)

Check the various folders you want to see in Thunderbird are enabled in Zoho for Imap access.

See screen shots attached.

Thanks again, I do appreciate that. Yes, they are all ticked. See screenshot. All apps including Thunderbird linux desktop, and thunderbird / k9 mail on the tablet work. It's JUST on the phone. Totally stumped.

Yeah, it's strange.

Does the troubled account connect to the server successfully when you click through the incoming server settings pages?

Have you tried refreshing the accounts folder list from manage folders > three dot menu?

Does the issue replicate if you use an earlier version of the app?

It would be useful to enable debug logging from the general settings > debugging page. Try the first 2 suggestions, along with a manual sync while logging is enabled. Select export logs afterwards from the debugging> three dot menu.

Have a look at the log file and see if it shows any error messages. You may need to review and redact any sensitive information if you'd like to share it.

You might also consider posting the issue over on github where expert hands are live :) https://github.com/thunderbird/thunderbird-android/issues

Thank you again, truly.

Checking:

  • Yes, in the settings for that account, I enter credentials, and it's successful
  • I have tried to refresh folders, but only Outbox shows.
  • I will try an earlier version soon, to confirm. Update to come.
  • Checking logs, there is a LOT of sensitive info in there. Full emails, and more. It's over 1700 lines long, and a little tricky to trim out.

I searched for ERROR, and found:

`10-30 08:19:51.739 12471 12902 E chromium: [1030/081951.739082:ERROR:android_webview/browser/variations/variations_seed_loader.cc:39] Seed missing signature.`

Searching for FAIL I found:

I'm nor sure if I can make sense of any of that unfortunately.

BUT, searching for IMAP, I found the following error. It might have a clue? I see it says `Could not refresh folder list for account a0bf0b52-d29c-43d6-a0da-cd69cb651731`

That's awesome!!!

Try with "auto-detect IMAP namespace" disabled and "IMAP path" value = / Try with "auto-detect IMAP namespace" disabled and "IMAP path" empty

Those both worked.

I only have an inbox, and an outbox (no sent folder, etc). But, it works. I can read, and successfully send emails, and I guess that will do for now.

I can't thank you enough!
