Hello, I was reinstalling my OS, and I didn't create recovery code for my data to retrieve it after (which I found out after reinstalling my OS) on my Mozilla Firefox account, I had a lot of passwords, bookmarks and data that I need to recover, also for my full time job a lot of valuable data which I have lost now. I couldn't find any email address so I can address my concern directly, It's why I am posting here. Please help, I am so lost now. I can also provide you with any information needed, just let me know.

Firefox Account Email: [email]@hotmail.com Contact Email: [email]@hotmail.com

A sync key derived from the original password of the Firefox Sync Account is used locally to encrypt your personal data before it is uploaded to the Sync server and only this original password or a possible recovery key can be used to decrypt your personal data stored on the Sync server. This sync key never leaves your computer and other connected devices (i.e. it is used locally and is never part of Sync). So if you do not remember this password then it is no longer possible to access the data on the Sync server and Mozilla can't help you to recover it. A password reset would wipe/clear the data on the Sync server and allow to reuse the account assuming you have access to the primary email address, otherwise you would have to create a new Firefox Account.

Keep in mind that Sync isn't designed to be used as a backup, but is merely meant to sync data between connected devices. Best is always to backup your personal data locally.

No, I haven't synced a second account. It was only the one I mentioned. I wasn't aware that Firefox will remove all the data if you'd forgot your password and create a new one with the same account.

So we can conclude that the data is now gone and Firefox can't do anything about it. Google seems more reliable from now on. This was such a horrible mistake I made by creating this Firefox Account.

Anyway, I do appreciate you guys taking the time to clear things out for me.

Best Regards
