78.4.x hangs at Checking mail server capabilities

Since upgrades to 78.4.0 then 78.4.1 my IMAP (Earthlink) email check hangs at Checking mail server capabilities if any Connection Security is turned on. It works correctly with security set to None but I am not thrilled with that "fix." TB was working fine before these upgrades. I have tried rebooting normally and in safe mode but I still get the error. Any suggestions or is this a bug?
