When i try to send email with attachement, it usualy starts sending, than error message appears "Copy failed" it tells me it didnt copy the sent message to sent folder and i can "Retry" "save" (in local folder) or Cancel. The email is send but it asks almost every time i try to send attachement. I use IMAP on private account (no gmail or such). It doesnt do that in Outlook on another computer. Thunderbird 78.1.0 but i think its been happening since older version.

After updating to Windows 10 Version 2004 [Windows automatic install update], Thunderbird buttons at top right of program work poorly. The button active area is extremely to the right of the button image and are not visible where active area is. If Thunderbird is not full screen, you cannot use them at all. You also have to discover this all by yourself as it seems the buttons do not work to minimize, maxamize, or close Thunderbird. Also, there seems to be a black bar partially over the buttons altogether which makes them very hard to access anyway. The program worked fine before Windows Update -- updated to Windows 10 Version 2004.

Every time I read or try to pull new emails for one of my accounts in Tbird I get this error: "Server [SERVER NAME] has disconnected. The server may have gone down or the… (читать ещё)

Every time I read or try to pull new emails for one of my accounts in Tbird I get this error:

"Server [SERVER NAME] has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there..."

A few facts:

  • I have not changed any settings before this began
  • I have various other email addresses pulling from the same IMAP server/port without issue
  • I spoke with the host, they see no issues on their side
  • I have not changed my password
  • I can log into Webmail successfully and pull mail just fine
  • It did connect once and pulled a couple dozen old emails which now have a current timestamp
  • I cleared my cache/history
  • I deleted the IMAP account and made a fresh one, same thing
  • I can send mail successfully

Since the most recent Thunderbird update each time I open Thunderbird I get a Windows 10 pop up stating "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device" which is very annoying.

How can I prevent this Windows pop up?

When thunderbird tries to send email error occurs: "Helo name contains an IP address (HELO was [192.168.1.17]) and not is valid." What is quite funny - the error appear only at my home on my home connection. What I am at work or connect thruogh my smartphone - everything is ok.

I tried to restart my home router but it didn't help. it is worth adding that the whole problem started to appear at the moment when admin transport domain to another hosting with new DNS.

HELO problem only appears at thunderbird. Sending e-mail through mail in the browsers work fine.

I am on the Release channel, and *Thunderbird* notified me of the update, which may be contrary to others who were updated through Kaspersky or other service.

Now, in addition to losing my Gmail Provider calendars, TB periodically and repeatedly becomes unresponsive for up to 3 minutes before returning control. During this time the processing wheel is turning. This appears to be isolated to TB, as I can do anything else with any other program or the desktop during this period. The Task Manager reports no abnormal CPU /Memory activity or unexpected app activity.

So far it is merely an interrupting annoyance that I would otherwise use to check email, .......

Hello all,

I have a problem.

I have set up my email to keep draft messages in "Drafts" folder on Local Folders. Auto save is also set to keep Auto Save draft messages in "Drafts" folder on Local Folders.

However, all drafts are saving into the Archives folder.

I am not sure what to do next to correct this issue.

Hi all, after migrating to a new computer, I have several problems with Thunderbird:

- the autocomplete of contacts is very slow, and it freeze every time I digit some letters. To solve, I deactivated the autocomplete function, but it's not a definitive solution.

- same situation when I compose an email; TB freeze for about 30 seconds/1 minute (the program is not responding)

I've yet tried various solutions suggested in this post, but they don't helped: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Memory_Usage_Problems

Do you have other suggestions?

Hi, i have one Windows 10 pc with Thunderbird 68.11.0 (32bit) installed. One IMAP account has this problem: many emails, when opened, shown the wrong sender. If i save the message in EML format, and i try to open it on another pc with Thunderbird, the sender is correct. I already tried to repair the folder and also to rename the global-messages-db.sqlite file but the problem remains. What can i try now ? Thank you. Marco.

As in the topic, the issue happened to 2 different gmail accounts on my thunderbird client. Accounts were created in different times and circumstances and i believe in default settings. After fetching e-mails to my thunderbird client they were no longer available on the server. It took me quite a bit of time to figure out that it is thunderbird nothing else. The e-mails stay in the client mail and i can read them on it after server removal. I didn't find any working setting in Thunderbird that could help. It didn't happen to outlook or another e-mail account providers except gmail so far. What to do? Is this a Thunderbird bug?

I'm having an issue where Thunderbird stops getting emails every x minutes as it should, and when I trigger the retrieval manually, I get an error that states: The POP3 mail server does not support UIDL or XTND XLST, which are required to implement the "Leave on Server", Maximum Message Size", or "Fetch Headers Only" options. To download your mail, turn off these options in the Server Settings for your mail server in the Account Settings window.

If I close and reopen Thunderbird, it starts working again (with no changes to the account settings) for a few hours, then the issue comes back. There's been no changes to my account settings either from my ISP or in my Thunderbird setup. In the past, I've seen this error very sporadically, but now it's happening at least twice a day.

So, I'm thinking I'm missing something obvious. A half hour of searching and I can't find the solution. Hopefully someone can help me.

I recently upgraded Thunderbird to 78.1.0. Upon startup I was waiting for a message to sync that I can see on my phone (I have not opened the message on my phone). I tried syncing several times with no success. Restarted PC and Thunderbird and confirmed solid internet connection. A suggestion I came across while troubleshooting was to "repair folder". Seemed easy enough. Well once I selected that option ALL MY EMAILS IN MY INBOX HAVE DISAPPEARED!

I have waited about 20 minutes with no messages appearing. Am I missing some major easy detail. I had no idea that an option called "repair folder" could result in the disappearance of all my messages. Trying to remain calm in hopes there is a simple fix. I apologize if this is a common issue that I am overlooking. I have tried to solve it with the extent of my knowledge.

Been using linux/ thunderbird for years. no problems. updated synaptic and something went wrong. all my settings were gone. like a new install. had to set up thunderbird again. Using bluehost, everything checks out with them . can recieve/send email through them. can recieve email but not send through thunderbird. checked, recheacked ports, server settings. I get this error message.An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE NAMESPACE LITERAL+ AUTH=PLAIN AUTH=LOGIN] Dovecot ready.. Then:Sending of the message failed. Failed due to unexpected error 80004005. No description is available. The message could not be sent using Outgoing server (SMTP) box5739.bluehost.com for an unknown reason. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.
