The web search feature does not work on FF15.0
Just took the 15.0 update. I can't type into the search field
Chosen solution
Yes, that is the Search Bar.
There was a change to the Search Bar in 15.0, the "name" of the search engine doesn't clear until you type the first character, the cursor blinks behind the G in Google.
Another Firefox 15.0 user reported a problem with the theme they were using. Try the default theme and see if your problem goes away.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Do you mean the search bar on the about:home page or the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar?
Note that a "Reset" creates a new profile and tries to import some settings from the old profile leaving the old profile intact, including the cache folder (about:cache) that can take up to 1 GB.
Firefox 15+ versions will move the old profile folder to an "Old Firefox Data-##" folder on the Desktop that gets a number appended if you use reset more than once, so you can no longer use the profile manager to revert to the old profile.
If there is a problem with searching via the default about:home page then try to reset the search engine used on the about:home page.
Reset the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref via the right-click context menu to the default on the about:config page and close and restart Firefox to restore the about:home page to its default.
- Open the about:config page via the location bar
- Type in the Filter bar: mstone
- Right-click the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone line and select: Reset
- Close and restart Firefox
If this didn't help then delete the delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder and repeat the above.
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
Sorry I might not be calling the search bar by the correct name, I took a screen shot of it. It's on the right with google in the text field. I can't erase the text field to do a search. I went back to the 14.01 and it's working again
