Chosen solution

Do you have extensions like IE View or IE Tab that use the IE program to render pages?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

You need to set Firefox as your default browser.

Go to your Control Panel. Then "Programs". See "Default Programs". Go down to "Set Your Default Programs". See "Firefox" Then "Set Firefox as default program".

Hope this helps. Rhon

Thanks for your prompt response, Rhon. Just to say I do not have 'Programs' in my Control Panel (only Program Updates). However, checked Tools/Options/Advanced/Check Now and confirmed Firefox is my Default Browser. Earlier reply from cor-el put me on the track and IE View options held the answer.

Ok. Glad to see you got help. I started to use this site when the babylon thing attacked me lol...then started to read other peoples posts. Now its 2 hours later and I can't feel my legs lol.

Good luck to you,

Rhon

Many thanks cor-el. IE View/Options, to which your instructions led me, allowed the deletion of an unbidden Always-in-IE site and calm is restored.
