How can I get Firefox working again? All of a sudden it says FireFox Profile is missing or inaccessible. I've tried deleting the app and downloading it again but I get the same message. I don't even know what a Profile is. I'm running it on Mac using OS10.14.5 I am NOT technical and this is very frustrating and confusing.

Great ... thank you for alerting me to that! Is there anyone at Mozilla who actually cares about this - it feels like it shouldn't be that hard to give me the bit of info I need to get Firefox working again!

Is there a contact email or number for Mozilla tech support?

No,   this is the official Mozilla support forum, where you will get all the help you need.

Firefox is a free product and Mozilla doesn't have the financial means to maintain a call center.
That's what these scammers are trying to make you believe.

Please, be patient;   the people who answer questions here are volunteers, users just like you and we all are dealing with different time zones.
I'm sure that someone will answer your question shortly.

The profile folder is where Firefox stores your personal data.

If you can't find a profiles.ini file then you can check for permission issues of both locations that are used for the profile folder.

Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder, so make sure to look in the correct location.

Location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data (Root Directory on about:profiles).

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/

Location used for the disk cache and other temporary files (Local Directory on about:profiles).

  • ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/

In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the "~/Library" folder in the Home directory is a hidden folder.
