DNS over HTTPARE THESE INSTRUCTIONS CORRECT
Before jumping in and adopting the more secure DoH, my computer magazine has suggested the following course of action. I have updated to the latest FF version 67.0.4. When opening FF I type the following into the address bar :- about:config. In the search box offers, I am to find the following:- 'network.trr.mode' and then 'network.trr.uri' I am then to change the setting for the formed to 2 and then change the latter to 'https://mozilla.cloudflare-dns.com/dns-query' On searching through support I have only found one previous thread which is 3 or so months old and may have been when this matter was sort of 'beta' and being tested. Could somebody please confirm the above is correct. Rgds Damascus

Hi Damascus, that is integrated into the Options page now. Either:
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
In the search box at the top of the page, type proxy and Firefox should filter to the "Settings" button, which you can click.
Toward the bottom, you'll find "Enable DNS over HTTPS". Check that box to enable the feature. Screenshot attached for reference.
If you compare in about:config, you'll see it sets network.trr.mode to 2, which matches the old approach.
I don't think a lot of people are using this feature. If you test it out, let us know how it goes.

Hello jscher I followed your instructions and it was all done in a few seconds. I did about:config and both the applicable lines in the options were changed correctly. Thank you

I will flag this thread an ask a moderator to rectify the Chosen Solution mark .....
Hello Alice Did I mark the wrong post? Apologies if I did
Damascus
Hello, Damascus, No worries! You marked the post by jscher2000 as "Helpful". I just marked the same post as "solves the problem".
Why? Because answers that are marked "Chosen Solution" show up in Google or other search engine results and finding this thread could help others. Another reason: to give proper credit :)
Hello Alice After my error I searched and found this matter of which button to press, and when, was recently discussed in the Sumo community. Thank you
You're welcome.
