Firefox privacy traces 1545 (54.0MB) Why?

more options

I use an 'iobit' system cleaner regularly and one of the problems it came up with is that there were 1545 privacy traces found amounting to 54.0 Mb. I can delete these at the touch of a button but I thought Firefox was supposed to suppress this kind of privacy issue? Your help would be appreciated. thanks Alan N.B. the screen shot shown only covers part of what was found!

The screenshot mentions 215 items in the browser cache. These are components of web pages Firefox can use to more quickly redisplay the page the next time you visit it. Not essential. To learn more about how to clear the cache, see: How to clear the Firefox cache.

What are the other 1300 items?

The screenshot didn't attach.

Can you please give it another try?

These tools have their own definitions of what is a privacy issue. Hopefully the screenshot will shed some light on that.

Meanwhile, if you like, you can remove cookies, and data stored by websites, using the "Manage Data" button on the Option page. Some of those cookies may be keeping you logged in or customizing sites to your liking, so flushing all of them would only be appropriate if you don't mind losing them.

Hi jscher2000 - thanks for your prompt reply. I had already deleted the first report of 1545 records. So I ran the program again to produce a screenshot for the query which as you say is now only 215. The screenshot did not show all items - you had to scroll down to see the rest. I will do as you suggest and look at the firefox cache. Appreciate your help and everyone else who has contributed. regards Alan
