Can't find web fonts options in Firefox 62
As the title says.
I turned off webfonts the other day, I suspect when I was running Firefox 61. Now in 62 all the options seem to have been removed and I can't turn them back on.
Searching in about:config has not shown anything helpful.
Chosen solution
Do you see any messages in the Web Console about downloadable fonts failing to get downloaded?
- "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer
- https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Tools/Web_Console
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.
- make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version

Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case content is blocked by Tracking Protection.
- click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
- You can check the Web Console by Tracking Protection
- "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer

Sorry, I've just checked the update history. I would have disabled them on 62.0.0 and am now using 62.0.2
Make sure you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
- Options/Preferences -> General: Fonts & Colors -> Advanced
[X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
You can check gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled on the about:config page and make sure it is set to true (if necessary double-click the line to toggle its value to true).
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
Thanks, I have checked both those things and they are both enabled already.
I am certain I found a clear option the other day to disable web fonts and selected that. I have many sites showing the square font placeholder thing.
But the option to turn them back on has disappeared.
See image.
