I want to get back the URL displayed at the bottom of the screen when mouse hovers over a link. I always used that to reduce my chances of going to a malware site. There are a couple of fixes posted here, such as the status-4-evar add-on, but when I try to use any of them I see that it is incompatible with Quantum Firefox, which I got upgraded to with no warning that this feature would disappear!

Is there some basic incompatibility with Quantum's internals that makes this impossible?

You should see the link at the bottom of the Firefox window if you hover a link. If that isn't happening then you either have an extension (not likely) or you have a userChrome.css file that blocks this statuspanel message.

Do you see other messages appear when a website is loading?
