Firefox redirect to spammy sites

more options

Yesterday I noticed that when I go to certain urls firefox redirects me to odd sites. for example when I type in http://projects.invisionap.com/ I get redirected to http://www.clickvalidator.net/?cid=1512488526002200000 or https://www.edmunds.com/?utm_medium=sem&utm_source=admarketplace&utm_account=edmunds&utm_campaign=sem_adm_ron&utm_adgroup=utm-migration&utm_term=ron_new_092016&utm_content=c1512488231002100001

This happens exclusively on firefox quantum 57.0.1 (64-bit)

I disabled all of my addons / extensions and it still persisted. Even uninstalled firefox and reset without any success. Anyone else figure out the fix for this?

Ohhhh...wow...just realized that I forgot the extra "p" ad the end of invisionapp.com....

So weird -- I think we're good now! ::facepalm::

If you try installing uBlock Origin does that stop the redirects? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/

@tyler - so that addon stops the urls from going through to the spammy site and exposes the redirect http://bridge.sfo1.admarketplace.net/ct?version=16.0.0&key=1512497674201100012.1&ci=1512497674286.11622

However, I'm still not able to navigate to the actual page I'm trying to get to which is this case is http://projects.invisionap.com/

Could this be a malware issue? I'm doubt it's an issue that's effecting my computer because no other browsers are affected by this issue, but it seems to be deeper than just firefox. hmmm...

It seems like that website is trying to redirect you. It's possible it was hacked. I'd contact the website directly
