In that case you have seen Firefox get changed in the past as it was changed a bit for Firefox 57 Quantum.

New features or changed features, and some features that get removed. Just ask for help or search the KB for the answers; rather than screaming at those of us who contribute their time to help other Firefox users. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-new-tab-page

You can disable the new Activity Stream design and revert to the earlier design by setting this pref to false.

  • browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled

For the home page you can disable the new Activity Stream design by setting this pref to false on the about:config page.

  • browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.aboutHome.enabled = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
