Hello!

When I start working on my computer, Mozilla starts automatically.

This was not the case before. What changed and how can I stop that?

Thank you for your help.

No idea. Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla before posting a question. This helps us help you. As I have no info from your system that would help see things that cause issues.

press the windows-key + R a window will open Then copy/paste %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup into the box and click ok. See if Firefox.exe is listed. If so delete it.

Reboot to see if is fixed if you removed it.

Note : Firefox 56.0.2 is current release https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ Full Version Installer Note : Firefox 57 Quantum release date Nov 14th https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/quantum/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Did you check the Windows startup folder?

Does it has effect if you unset Firefox as the default browser and set another browser as the default browser?

Yes I did and nothing there.

I did (Firefox was my default browser) and it worked. Does that mean that there is no way to have Firefox as a default browser and not have it starts by itself?

That was turned on already. I don't know why it didn't work.

Nothing was there.

I followed the advice from cor-el and it did work, but I would like to keep Firefox as my default browser without having it starting by itself.

Hi David, it's not normal for Firefox to start up automatically with Windows.

This is another tool to inspect what happens at startup across a range of causes:
