Just upgraded to FF 56 and I began to see the following problem. Now it doesn't happen every time but about 60% of the time. When I close, whatever page I'm looking at, the next time I start up I either get the last page I was looking at or a message that there was a problem recovering the last page, in which case, I have to hit the home button to recover my home page. Never saw this problem before this latest update. Any thoughts on this? Thanks

Chosen solution

If the problem returns, it may be a compatibility issue between CCleaner (setting to clear Firefox session data) and Firefox 56 (which has new session history file formats).

You may have corrupt sessionstore file(s). Delete all sessionstore* files and the sessionstore-backups folder.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

Just curious as to what happens when I delete that file and folder. Does FF recreate that folder? I assume it needs it to function correctly. I look forward to your comments. Thanks

The sessionstore file(s) stores where the browser has been during the last time it was working, allowing the user to return to whatever they were doing during the last session.

Such files, if removed, are recreated when needed.

OK I'll disable that CCleaner functions and see if the problem persists. I'll keep you posted. Thanks
