[Quantum beta] Wrong favicon in the Bookmarks bar

Hello everyone, here is my problem: I have a lot of favicons in my bookmarks bar and one of them schows favicon from another site e.g. where should be twitch icon I have a reddit icon for some reason. I tried Ctrl+F5 and some others tricks while looking for a solution but none of them helped. I know it's beta, but I remember having the same problem before I switched to another browser, now I decided to try Firefox Quantum and here we are again. Bookmarks is my favorite way of accessing the sites I visit often and this feature is crucial to me. Will it be fixed? Are there any temporary fixes?

That has been happening to Firefox bookmarks - assuming a Favicon from a bookmark that is / was adjacent to another saved bookmark - for some users, for many years now. Nothing new to Quantum beta.

I'm not testing Quantum, but Reddit is one bookmark that I have had a problem with from time to time. Now I just don't save a new bookmark immediately above or below the Reddit bookmarks. YMMV I have never used Twitch.

Are you using the same Profile with Quantum beta as you are with Firefox 56.0? If so, see if a new Profile for Quantum beta solves that issue.

If it doesn't work correctly with a new Profile - it sounds like a Bug that needs to be fixed. IMO, a "new" version should be new without all the long existing bugs such as that. But I do have to say that it doesn't seem to effect me now as much as it did many years ago. Then again, it may just be that I don't see it because I don;t save as many new bookmarks as I did years ago.

Hello,

the same with me. Since using the Beta 56 some favicons of my saved bookmarks are wrong. I have already tried to delete the affected bookmarks and then delete the FF cache. Afterwards I closed FF and restarted it - unfortunately unsuccessfully.

Hi,

I have this exact same problem as well (Quantum version 58.0b14) (64-bit), where Reddit's favicon duplicates across all my other bookmarks, it is extremely annoying. This not only happens when saving bookmarks but also when I click on them to load a page, then the bookmarks icon will change. A fix for this would be great.

Try to rename/remove favicons.sqlite in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
