Why do I keep getting a spinning wheel when I am on FB. I saw a thread that was old that said it shouldn't be happening any more and the moderator closed thread

Lately, when I am on FB, I keep getting a spinning wheel. I'm not doing anything in particular, it just happens randomly and often. It then tells me something about the script and I end up having to get off the internet and come back in. All of the threads on FB are useless. They are at least 4 years old. I found another one on Firefox's site, but it is several months old and the moderator closed the thread down telling people they shouldn't have the problem any more. That doesn't help those of us who do still have a problem.
