Firefox crashes on closing - SmartCardMonitoring
I recently installed a SmartCard reader for electronic ID. It appears to work fine, but, since then, each time I close Firefox it comes up with the crash report box.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

The System Details list next to the question shows that you run an older Firefox 50.1.0 version that is no longer supported with security updates. Always update Firefox and Add-ons to the latest versions to get all security fixes.
Please update to the current Firefox 51.0.x release.

I always have my Firefox set to automatically download and install updates. I had checked for updates just before posting here, and it said Firefox was up to date.
I have since done a manual update and am now on the new version (51.0). I still got crashes on closing.
Then I went to the AMD website and got the latest recommended driver update.
So far, fingers crossed, that seems to have solved the problem.
FredMcD & cor-el, thank you both for your help.
That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.
