taskbar menu has 3 items now i can not save about:config to change back to full menu

i use to have a number of items on the right click (task bar icon) this morning they went away i read about this and what has to change but it will not save, every time i open Firefox and check it it is the same as before i changed it .browser.taskbar.lastgroupid keeps reverting to user set in bold.

Hi, are you talking about a Taskbar icon that only appears when FF is running, or a pinned FF icon? If the latter, try right click > Delete it, then open FF from All Programs/Apps, and right click on the icon > Pin this program to Taskbar.

(I'm not familiar with Win10, but assume those options are still available)!

i found the only way i could fix it was uninstall the program completely, including all the little hidden places it stores information about your install and re-install from scratch. now it works fine. PS don't forget to backup all your fav's and password etc if you want to .
