I have a user tab in bookmarks, it will not accept any more, help!
When I look at recently bookmarked tab the book marks are there, but when I open the tab for ditdah's bookmarks, they no longer show. What is wrong and how can I fix it?
Chosen solution
The recent bookmarks list is a list of bookmarks stored elsewhere. If you can locate them elsewhere then they have been moved. If you can't find them elsewhere then there is likely a problem with the places.sqlite database like posted above.

Hello ditdah,
Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing. To recover them, follow the instructions below.
- Use one of these methods to open the Bookmarks Library window:
- Firefox 29 and above: Click the Bookmarks button and select Show All Bookmarks.
- Previous Firefox versions: Click the Firefox button and click on Bookmarks. (If you don't have a Firefox button, click the Bookmarks button or Bookmarks menu item and select Show All Bookmarks.)
- At the top of the Library window, click on Import and Backup and select Restore.
- Click the date of the bookmark backup you want to recover.
- In the new window that appears, click OK.
- Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored.
For more information, see the Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer article. For other solutions, see the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article.
Hope this helps!

Is this about seeing the bookmarks on the Bookmarks Toolbar or are bookmarks not working?
- bookmarks created via a click on the star in the location bar are stored by default in the Unsorted Bookmarks folder.
- click the blue highlighted star on the navigation toolbar to edit the properties and to move the bookmark to another folder.
- bookmarks created via "Bookmarks > Bookmark This Page" (Ctrl + D) are stored at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder.
"Most Visited" and "Recently Bookmarked" and "Recent Tags" are examples of so called Smart Bookmarks folders and are not real existing folders. Smart folders show a list created by a query of the places.sqlite database that stores bookmarks and history in Firefox.
When I open bookmarks, I have a folder called ditdah where I store my personal bookmarks. It held them until a few months ago. Now it will store no more. The bookmarks can only be seen in recent bookmarks tab. Thank you both.
You may have moved to bookmarks out of this folder. "Recently Bookmarked" shows a list of bookmarks like I wrote above, so if you find them there then they should be somewhere. You can try to open such a bookmark in a tab and click the star on the Navigation Toolbar to check the location (folder).
Are you using Sync to sync the bookmarks?
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync while performing maintenance/repair efforts to files in the Firefox profile folder.
We'll see, but as I said it will no longer send a bookmark to my list, only to recent bookmarks list. Thanks
