I guess its the same old story, you can not ask a direct question of Mozilla. I can not remove unwanted or unused browsers from my Firefox. I have tried and all I get is and black circle with an diagonal across it when I try to hit remove.

Firefox is a web browser. It does not use other browsers. Please describe what you are trying to do in detail. What is it you want removed?

I am sorry, I used the wrong terms... I meant search engines. I only use Google and Yahoo by choice. I can not remove the others from the list on Firefox. I've done that in the past, but for whatever reason, that page will not allow me to click on remove for those other search engines such as Bing.

Let's start with this;

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Try to delete the search.json file and possible search-metadata.json and search.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder to reset the search engines to the default.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Firefox will rebuild the search.json file from the default built-in search engines that come with Firefox and the searchplugins folder in the Firefox profile folder.

If I understood how to access these suggested files to remove them I would. I uninstalled Firefox, re-installed it, Refreshed it, and I still can not remove unwanted search engines. I am so tired of not being able to do anything without difficulty on Firefox. I even had to uninstall it to fix the colors.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate all search.* files. Then rename or delete them. Restart Firefox.

I thank you all for your help, but I've done the best I can in following your suggestions. But I still have the same problem. I've deleted both the suggested files, reset Firefox, and I still can get rid of unwanted search engines. When I check the ones I want to remove, I still get a black can not execute circle.
