Unsolvable redirect to yahoo pages, can't disable, just reinstalled and still have the problem, firefox is unusable like this
When browsing some websites - for example, the university website where I work - I get a yahoo search page of some kind that, quite frankly, I do not know what it means and why it is there. I have just reinstalled firefox, and deleted yahoo search engine preferences, but still get this redirect. It is infuriating, and I am ready to dump firefox and switch to chrome or something, which makes me a little sad - I am a longtime firefox user and opensource supporter, but this problem makes firefox unusable. I've searched online, and cannot find a solution that I understand (i.e. really technical solutions should not be necessary, this is a problem out of the box, so to speak). This is a last request for help ... Thank you!

hi, there appear to be some probably unwanted addons active in your firefox profile. please refresh firefox like it is described at Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
Thank you phillipp! Hoe did the add-ons get added on? I just reinstalled my operating system, and then firefox so everything was new ... ? In any event, all's working now. I don't have to abandon Firefox!
