Could you try something for me: right-click that overlay. Do you get a plugin menu (for example, the short menu displayed by the Flash player) or a regular Firefox right-click content menu?

If you get the Flash menu, this seems to be something generated by the media, but I can't tell what it is from looking at it.

If you get Firefox's menu, choose Inspect Element (Q). This will open a panel at the bottom of the tab displaying the code of that area of the page. Allow several moments for your eyes to adjust and don't panic. I'll call this the "HTML tree" because it has an indented structure.

Okay, if you look at the HTML code of the element you right-clicked, and then start reading up and left from that, do you see any indication of what it is, for example, some kind of advertising overlay? Some kind of broken full screen transition?

Also, if you return to the section of the HTML tree for that element, if you right-click the element and "Delete Node", what happens? Can you now see the video clearly, or do you lose the video now?

I just noticed something, I have two monitors when I put the video on my second monitor the white layer disappears. When I put it on my main monitor it shows the white layers. I think i figured out the problem though it doesn't do it with other browsers its only on Firefox. Which i prefer to use!

Some monitors have a dynamic brightness feature. I don't know whether that's relevant to this odd behavior.

I found out the problem today. Kinda of silly but make sure everything is updated for your On board Graphics card if you have Intel. Thats' all I have to say. Thanks for helping me out!
