Yahoo must have been a part of something I downloaded. I can not figure out how to delete it and get back to my Firefox/Google? Thanks, Bill

If changing your home page settings at:

  • Tools (or New Fx Menu) > Options > General

Doesn't permanently change your home page, and changing your search bar engine (the bar to the right of your address bar) by clicking the downward triangle and selecting a different engine, then try the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
  3. Select the toolbar you wish to remove.
  4. Click the Remove button.
  5. Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.

After Firefox restarts, install the Search Reset Tool. This will remove the rest of the traces of this program from your Firefox.

For further information, please read Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page.

If your preferences keep getting reverted back, you may have software that is protecting your preferences. Some anti-virus software is known to do this, so if you experience this issue temporarily disable that feature and try the above steps again. Please see How to fix preferences that won't save for more information.
