I kept getting messages that Java SE 7 U plugin has security issues. I have uninstalled both 32-bit and 64-bit versions and then installed it afresh. I get the same message about poor security. I use it for my daily on-line crossword. Is the problem with www.independent.co.uk or my PC?

hello timgall, the java plugin has a dubious security record in general. if you want to enable it for certain sites you can do so - for details see How to allow Java on trusted sites
