it seems that very recently my firefox save as (right click to save .jpg files) does not remember where I last saved images to. This has become a huge problem when saving many images from a source and always having to see where the save as opens a folder to and them find the one that I need to open each and every time I save an image...

I believe Firefox is now remembering the last directory used on a per-URL basis.

The problem is that while for some sites this works well, for many sites such as Flickr it fails miserably because you can be downloading many images from the same gallery, all from different servers. So its giving you the directory of the last image saved from that server, not from that gallery.

That is my guess anyway, I cannot find any mention of this behaviour.

My Firefox is doing the same thing and it's very annoying. At first, it seemed like Firefox was picking folders at random until once it actually guessed right. In preferences, Firefox is simply set to save to the desktop, but that's certainly not the way it's behaving.

It's my feeling that a company should not use the general public as a test bed. If it doesn't work as expected, it shouldn't be released, or at the very least, it should have an option to turn off it's buggy behavior.

Thanks.
