I just upgraded to Firefox Version 4. Can I go back to the prior version?
Bah Humbug! I upgraded to Version 4, which is fine, but when it tells me that programs aren't compatible, like my DVDVideoSoft Free Video, that makes me really upset! So can I go back to the prior version? If so, how?

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

Thanks so much, Tony, for you help! Before I downgrade, can I ask one more thing? Are there too many problems going on with Firefox 4 for me to stay with it and learn where everything is? I had no problems with the 3.6 and it was great for me. I don't like the tabs being at the top on 4, but I guess I could get used to it. Don't know if I'm ready for big changes. Appreciate your time very much!
