Gmail will only open in Basic HTML (for slow connections) using Firefox 3.6.13 GTB7.1 -- Safari has no problem.

With an iMac 10.4.11, Intel, using Firefox/3.5.13 GTB7.1, Gmail will only open in HTML Basic (for slow connections). Safari has no problem. This is a recent issue not previously experienced. I have emptied cache and posted question on Gmail. I recently downloaded and installed Google Chrome (after much badgering to do so) only to be told it was not usable on my iMac. However, this problem started before I tried Chrome. This issue occurs without fail with FF -- not at all with Safari.

Go to Tools and disable Adblock Plus in the ad filters of gmail! Worked for me :)
