How to disable persistent zoom level?

Firefox 139.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 11

I occasionally increase the zoom level of websites (usually forums) with Ctrl+mouse wheel if the default text size is too small. However, if I forget to set them back to 100% (Ctrl+0) before closing the tab, the next time I open that URL, it's at the former adjusted zoom level -- not 100%. Really annoying.

How do I force Firefox to open all URLs at 100% regardless of the last custom zoom level? I have default zoom already set to 100% in Settings and Zoom Text Only is not enabled.

Thanks.

Hello,

Try setting browser.zoom.siteSpecific Firefox preference to false in the Configuration Editor:

  • Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.
  • A warning page may appear. Click "Accept the Risk and Continue" to go to the about:config page.
  • Enter browser.zoom.siteSpecific in the Search preference name box.
  • Set the browser.zoom.siteSpecific preference (named exactly like that) to false (if it is currently set to true) by toggling the Toggle button (or just double-click on the preference).

I've set it and will see. Thanks.
