Make Mark Toolbar a default for marking/unmarking without drop down (115.4.1 Supernova)

It used to be that you could hit "Mark" and it would mark what was read as unread or mark what was unread as read. Why can't that be the default again without the dropdown menu? If I need the dropdown, I could click the arrow. Or am I missing a customization?

In the meantime, you can press the M key to toggle read/unread.
