Text display / Encoding problem?
Text rendering is totally jacked. Not just special characters but all text on a select number of websites that I have been visiting without any problems for years (Online Banking Account, SalesForce Log-in screens). The Repair Text Encoding button under view is greyed out as well. Any thoughts?

You can check for issues with (corrupted) fonts. You can check in Font Book for font issues like corrupted and duplicate fonts.
You can right-click and select "Inspect" to open the built-in Inspector with this element selected.
You can check in the Rules tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font-family is used for selected text. You can check in the Fonts tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font is actually used because Firefox might be using a different font than specified by the website.
I have no idea what this means. I am not a developer. I can see the typeface is Interstate but my system is using Times New Roman. The only thing that changes when I click anything is the Citibank Online header when I click the "ital" button.
Im having the same issue. I'm just going to a normal website (opens normally on Safari, no "corrupted fonts" or whatever the hell), but I get this on Firefox (screenshot attached). This happens on multiple sites.
I even have the inspector open, and there is no "Rules" tabs as far as I can tell. It's asinine that this was the proposed solution anyway - "Check what font is actually used". OK, then what? How would going on inspector for one site fix this issue which is clearly affecting multiple sites?
I've also checked the "Font Book" on Mac. The font in question here is Times New Roman, so there is no way to delete/deactivate it since it's a system font. Not that this should be an Apple thing, since this font works for me on all other applications.
The Repair Text Encoding is also greyed out for me (just like for @stefan.peters)
